About Us
Brittney DoGood was born in August of 1992 and raised in Jamestown, North Carolina a small suburb outside of Greensboro, NC. She was born the youngest and only girl of three. DoGood's parents met in college where they both earned college degrees (Father: Industrial Engineering NC A&T Mother: Business UNC Chapel Hill) and placed the highest priority on getting an college education. Early on DoGood excelled in grade school both academically and athletically earning the honor of being the only freshman on her high school basketball team. Her mother and father didn't care much for Hip-Hop's gangster rap message so early on, gospel music like Kirk Franklin and Yolanda Adams where DoGood’s main inspirations as well as pop music sensations like NSync and LFO. That all changed in the third grade. While traveling under the school bus seats which was a normal practice in those days DoGood discovered a CD player that had been left on the bus. Inside was a D12 World disc which was DoGood’s first uncensored introduction to Hip Hop. It changed her world forever. Ironically, Eminem opened DoGood's eyes to the racial divide, poverty and struggle that follows, things she never had to encounter in her sheltered world. DoGood fell in love with the rawness and aggression of Eminem, 50 Cent and the whole Aftermath camp. DoGood attempted to her first to write her first song after buying her very own Macbook Pro for college at age 17. She would be heading to NC State University to study Computer Science. With the help of garageband, she wrote and recorded her first song over a Daft Punk instrumental. From there she would continue to make songs that speak to her unique background and engineer sessions for her close relative Anthony Morgan aka Major. In 2013 DoGood and Major incorporated there very own label: Hotbox Entertainment. The rest is history.
